Kona's turquoise sea is world-famous. Diving and snorkelling on a geologically young reef close to shore is great.
The island has several great treks! It's easy to get about because there aren't many roads and the stunning, mountainous scenery dips towards the sea.
Swimming with dolphins or a marine turtle is common. Kona's crystal-clear ocean makes aquatic life easy to spot.
The Big Island has some of the world's best telescopes. Don't miss the opportunity to see them at the top of Mauna Kea.
